When Tomas wakes up the day after his wedding, his wife is nowhere to be seen. Suzanne's phone is on her bedside table and she never goes anywhere without her phone. When Tomas searches for Suzanne with the dog, he ends up in the community center. He wants to go back home to look further, but is urged to look at a video message first. On a big screen he sees Suzanne. ‘It is now seven o'clock in the morning, ’ she says, ‘we are just here. ’

Suzanne seems to have left ‘necessities ’ to another planet, while Tomas has been left on Earth. Not only his wife, but also his mother and son have moved ‘’. Tomas realizes that he has lost not only his loved ones, but also life as he knew it. He is left with a wry feeling and questions about why he was not chosen. Tomas is critical and cannot believe that half of the world's population has disappeared, while other backward people want to continue their old lives as much as possible.
