Carcassonne (NL)
In this well-known tile laying game, players jointly build the French city of Carcassonne with all its roads, cities, monasteries and pastures. By placing serfs, they score points for completed projects.
Each turn, you place one land tile and you may place one serf on it. The type of tile depends on the tile. For example, there are tiles with road sections, monasteries, city sections and/or pieces of pasture. In principle, no more than one serf may be on a project, but if two unfinished parts are built together, it is possible that more serfs will end up on it. Whoever has the most serfs on a completed project immediately receives points for it. Different rules apply to the number of points to be received for each type of project. The game ends when all tiles have been placed. Whoever has the most points wins.
Carcassonne is popular with both families and frequent players, because despite the simple rules, it has sufficient depth. The touch of luck gives everyone the opportunity to compete for the win until the end.
